ring out the old, ring in the new

thanks to various problems caused by dampness under the bonnet of my little old car, i am posting my new year notes a day late. so i've already been late and it's only day 2.

the most useful thing i knitted in 2010 was definitely this pair of mittens (thanks to my lovely friend Sara for the pattern). the fairisle effect makes them very warm.

but in the event, we spent new year's eve indoors anyway. with music...

and a cat...which is much the best way to start a new year

so now there is a shiny new (and empty) calendar to fill.... i like it best when it's empty though

inspiration for 2011 comes from my sister's road trip to california (i hope to see some of the sun this year)...[her photo]

and i must, must finish this damn tapestry cushion, which i started over a YEAR ago...
