Some little details that make Lisbon such a beautiful city for design (they have a fantastic design museum in fact: MUDE. It's such a good city to visit. And probably to live in too. Swirling road cobbles, tiled buildings, trams, shops that sell one thing (hats, or gloves), quirky shop fronts and signs, beautifully packaged soaps... and sardines.

We were exceptionally lucky to have the very lovely Cara, from Lillian and Leonard, take photos on our wedding day. Although we were a tiny party, she was as warm and congratulatory as if it had been a big day -- she is a star photographer, as you can see from this picture of us on our doorstep. And best of all, she got doglet. Thank you so much, Cara. More here.

Just taking things slowly at the moment, enjoying the Olympics, re-painting the study, creating a sewing room. Here is a snuggle blanket I recently finished for a lovely new baby. We didn't know the sex so went for cream and brown stripes, in a cashmere mix (starting them with expensive tastes). I wanted to try a new technique, so learned the very brilliant and pleasing i-cord edging, at the inspiration of Kate Davis. I went for a much simpler version though (she is the knitting genius) and ran it straight off a rib-edging, rather than doing any steeking (next challenge). I'm making another one now for myself (to stave off chilly knees in Autumn).

After being quite horrible for almost all of it, June turned itself around at the end and became completely lovely. Thank you so much to everyone who has been so kind, warm and supportive. We are very happy to have become an old married couple and had a very restorative honeymoon in Portugal. Happy times indeed! There are lots of images to share from the last couple of weeks, but here are some quiet ones. Shadows of the roses on the wall (a rare moment of evening sun), and the hairband I made myself to wear to get married -- it's made from the silk and then the crocheted flowers from my mother's wedding dress, which was very chic and 70s-tastic. I was privileged to revive it.
